- One of our most intense and most rewarding project. Each year, a new competition concept is born, and we're given a few months to design, build, and program a robot while facing real-world limitations such as a limited range of parts and maintaining budgets.

Non-Competitive Projects

White Board Bot

Project Manager :

Kevin Navarro

- This project entails developing a swarm platform robot that for application on wall operations with the capability to interact indirectly with an individual or a group of people in educational and outreach applications.

- The robot would resemble a storage container but would be able to organize the things stored based on color. The robot itself would have multiple compartments each assigned to be for a specific color. The goal is to make the robot be able to auto-sort large (relative to the size of the box) deposits of items without human intervention or inputting the items individually.

Addressing issue with tomato pollination in greenhouses and industrial agriculture
In the wild tomatoes are pollinated by the wind, and in greenhouses farmers have to either manually pollinate them or maintain a beehive to do so. To address this, we’re creating a trellis that tomatoes can grow around and has open valves where pressurized air can be released from to mimic wind flow.

  • A type of printer that can draw on any surface.Ex: Board, wall, window.

  • This type of printer can be useful in all types of situations. Business owners can change their wall art every day or change the plotter to fit the dimensions of a surface.

The Phoniex Center in Nutley has asked us to take a look at these robots to see if we can get them up and running and add new features such as adding AI. These robots can walk, talk and have various sensors. Our goals are to:

  • Diagnosing and repairing the robots

  • Exploring possibilities for integrating modern AI into their systems.

  • Sharing any insights, suggestions, or advice based on your experiences.
